Nexstep presents at Offshore Decommissioning Conference

From 27 to 29 November the annual Offshore Decommissioning Conference – organized by Decom North Sea and Oil & Gas UK – took place in St. Andrews (Scotland). It was a well attended event with some 500 international participants. A diverse stakeholder group was present: members of BEIS, OGA, service industry, fishery, academics etc.

On behalf of Nexstep, interim General Manager Eric Kreft attended this conference where he spoke about the new national platform. His presentation was focused around re-use and the possibilities it can offer for the energy transition. During the conference Nexstep was often mentioned as an example of how decommissioning can be organized and how transparency about re-use and dismantling can be promoted.

During the conference the publication ‘Decommissioning Insight’ was published; a report that captures a broad picture of the decommissioning opportunities across the North Sea. The report focuses on what the UK, Norway, the Netherlands and Denmark could offer between 2018 and 2025. The input for the Netherlands part was provided by Nexstep.
